ON THE PROGRAM
Sergei Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet, Op. 64
Music Director and Conductor Carl Topilow, currently in his forty-first year with the National Repertory Orchestra, has led the orchestra to the forefront of summer music festivals. He has assisted in the training of talented young musicians and conductors for positions in orchestras in the United States and abroad. His manner of presenting the music through musical illustrations and guides has enhanced the concert experience for the NRO’s appreciative audiences.
A Dallas native, Ella Loman is a violinist pursuing a performer’s diploma in orchestral studies at Indiana University where she studies with Alexander Kerr. Currently, Ella works as the principal second violinist of the Richmond (IN) Symphony Orchestra and has served as concertmaster for several orchestras at IU. She has attended both the Aspen Music Festival and the Kent Blossom Festival as Concertmaster in collaboration with the Cleveland Orchestra.
Isabel Dimoff has primarily studied with Anthony Elliott, Ilya Finkelshteyn, and Mark Kosower. She is a current graduate student at the University of Michigan and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dimoff has received the Cleveland Cello Society’s Agnew Prize for Bach and the Cincinnati Three Arts’ Women’s Scholarship. She aspires to play in a great orchestra and teach cello. Dimoff performs on a John Betts cello from 1790.
