The Future of Classical Music
Each year the National Repertory Orchestra auditions over 900 musicians for 89 coveted spots. These young and talented musicians are mentored by professional musical guests and world-class conductors to perform the most important and challenging repertoire while also receiving crucial hands-on experience in community outreach and development.
Changing Lives Through Music
For nearly 60 years, the National Repertory Orchestra has played an important role in preparing young musicians for professional careers in music and the arts while delivering outstanding musical performances for residents and visitors in Summit County. It doesn’t happen without the generous support of our amazing donors.
“My time with the NRO this past summer was nothing short of surreal. I learned so much from Carl Topilow and had a wonderful experience. If I could do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat. It’s definitely something I will cherish for the rest of my life.“
— Matthew Gray ’18, tuba
There are several ways you can help support the musical excellence of the National Repertory Orchestra:
The NRO Endowment Trust was created in 2004 to provide long-term financial support for the NRO. It continues to grow through the generosity of many donors. We thank all those who have contributed to the long-term financial health of the NRO, and thus the long-term musical health of all the symphony orchestras who depend upon the NRO to help train their musicians.
Rather than giving money, an in-kind gift is the giving of a good or service. We always accept in-kind gifts to use in our auctions to raise money for our musicians.
Examples: office supplies, bikes for musicians, IT services, venues for fundraising events, summer housing for musicians and guest conductors, etc. The possibilities are endless and ever-appreciated!
Many companies and individuals match contributions given to the orchestra. If you would like to match contributions as an individual, please contact Åsa Armstrong at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some companies match their current or retired employees’ contributions. Look for your company online under “matching gift company search” or check with your Human Resources department to see if you can double your contribution.
A number of individuals have already acted to provide future support for the orchestra. Leave your own lasting gift to the NRO through your will, trust, life income trust, IRA, retirement plan, life insurance designation, or other planned giving vehicle.
If you have made an estate provision, or are considering a planned gift, please let us know.
