Bio:
Christophe Koenig is a native of East Aurora, NY and began his studies at the age of 4 under Amy Glidden. Throughout the years, he has served as Concertmaster of The Eastman Philharmonia, The National Orchestral Institute Philharmonic, The Manhattan School of Music Symphony Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra among others. Christophe was awarded 2nd prize at the 2020 MTNA national chamber music competition and was also named a finalist at the 2022 Jefferson Symphony Concerto Competition. Recently, he has performed as a substitute with the Rochester Philharmonic, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony. Christophe holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Juliana Athayde and currently attends a Master’s program at the Manhattan School of Music studying with Curtis Macomber. Christophe plays on a Giovanni Grancino violin from 1679 thanks to the generosity of his late grandfather, Herbert L. Koenig.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
In high school I was a state level competitive swimmer.
