Charles Renneker is a percussionist currently studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music, focusing on Timpani. His primary teacher is the Principal Timpanist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Paul Yancich. Renneker is a member of the CIM Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, New Music Ensemble and has been a guest timpanist of the Blossom Music Festival. Over previous summers, he has spent time playing at festivals across the United States, such as the New York String Orchestra Seminar, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Northwestern Percussion Symposium.
Who do you consider to be the most meaningful person in your life?
My girlfriend, Jessamyn Frye.
What has been the best meal of your life?
In north eastern Alabama (I’m from Birmingham) is a great burger joint which has incredible burgers on a pretzel bun! The greatest burger and meal I’ve ever had.
