Lisa Goddard cropped smallLisa Goddard, 2012 and 2013 NRO violinist, won a job in October with the Portland Symphony Orchestra in Maine. She has a one-year contract in the first violin section.

Lisa is also finishing her studies (Masters in Music) at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she plays with the Atlantic Symphony, Harvard Baroque Chamber Orchestra, Grand Harmonie, and the Emergence String Quartet.  Additionally, she has subbed with the Boston Ballet Orchestra, the New Haven Symphony, and Boston Baroque. In her summers since NRO, she has been to the Spoleto Festival USA, where she served as concertmaster and principal second, and the Lucerne Festival Academy in Switzerland.

Lisa says, “As a Colorado native, I was thrilled to spend two summers in Breckenridge playing with the NRO. Orchestral music is my passion, and I learned so much from playing with the NRO about how orchestras work, and how to make a contribution as a member of an orchestra. It was also a great opportunity to meet other people my age who were aiming for orchestral careers – they were very helpful and supportive, and it’s been wonderful to watch my professional network grow from many NRO alumni. I had a great time with my kind and generous hosts, Nancy and Tom French, and doing lots of hiking in the Rockies!”

Lisa, best wishes and congratulations from your friends at the NRO!
