Alumni Spot Light - Brandie Phillips B&WBrandie Phillips, NRO Alumna 2009 & 2010, is currently living in Dallas and is the Acting Assistant Concertmaster of The Dallas Opera Orchestra. In addition, she plays many concerts with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony, as well as many other groups around the metroplex. Brandie maintains a full studio of students who range from 6-16 years old.

Brandie states, “Living in such a wonderfully art-centered city has really allowed me to experience many different musical opportunities. I have been honored to play for President and Mrs. George W. Bush, as well as other political dignitaries such as Henry Kissinger and Ross Perot. Last year, I played in the Broadway tour of Jekyll and Hyde with Constantine Maroulis and Deborah Cox. I am excited to be a part of the upcoming Broadway revival production of The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, which plays in Dallas for two weeks this December.

I am constantly looking back on my two summers at NRO and will always hold that time dear to my heart. I have been back to Breckenridge once or twice a year since then to visit my wonderful host family, Barb and Jim Calvin – I just can’t seem to get enough of the mountains! It has been wonderful to see many of my musical friends and colleagues go on to participate in NRO and bring back the same memories as I have! I am so thankful to have had the NRO experience which has no doubt greatly influenced where I am professionally at this point in my life.”

Best of luck, Brandie!
